Beef… A Nutritional Powerhouse

Beef is a concentrated source of many very important nutrients including zinc, iron, protein and five B-vitamins. Just take a look at the positive nutritional benefits beef provides – it’s nutritional profile is hard to beat.

  • Zinc keeps the body strong by maintaining a healthy immune system.

  • Iron carries oxygen to muscles, enhances energy production and supports proper functioning of the immune system.

  • Protein builds and maintains strong muscles and provides stamina.

  • B-vitamins keep the body going strong by turning food into energy. Beef is a major dietary source of four B-vitamins; riboflavin, niacin, vitamin B6 and vitamin B12. It is also a good source of thiamin.

The Competitive Advantage of Beef

Beef has a nutrient bundle in every bite. To get the same amount of zinc that’s found in a 3 oz. serving of lean beef, you would have to eat thirteen 3 oz. servings of tuna meat. See how beef stacks up against the competition on other nutrients. Just one 3 oz. serving of lean beef is an excellent source of 5 (protein, zinc, vitamin B12, selenium and phosphorus) and a good source of 4 (niacin, vitamin B6, iron and riboflavin) essential nutrients you need every day.
