Soy-Caramel Sauce

This easy-to-prepare soy-caramel sauce adds Asian-inspired flair to your next beef dish. Enjoy!

Ingredients:

  • 1/4 cup chopped green onions
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon minced fresh ginger
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup reduced-sodium soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons red wine vinegar
  • 1-1/2 teaspoons Dijon-style mustard
  • 2 tablespoons butter

Cooking:

  1. Heat small saucepan over medium heat until hot. Add onion, garlic and ginger; cook and stir for 2 to 3 minutes.  Add water and sugar; bring to a boil. Cook and stir 13 to 15 minutes or until reduced to 1/2 cup.  Remove from heat; carefully stir in soy sauce, vinegar and mustard. Whisk in butter.  Serve immediately.
